Competition law and protecting consumer rights
Competition law and protecting consumer rights
We provide advice and representation on competition law matters, primarily unfair market conduct, particularly with respect to cases of passing off, i.e. imitating a competitor’s product, infringement of good reputation and prohibited comparative advertising, before the Hungarian Competition Authority and the courts. In the absence of a registered trademark or design, litigation or proceedings aimed at obtaining interim injunctive relief against passing off may constitute a real alternative to trademark- or design infringement suits. Competition law enforcement of existing industrial property rights may also represent an effective complementary solution to taking action against the infringement.
We have extensive experience in advising on consumer rights protection matters, as well as providing represention for both consumers and companies before the competent authorities and courts. We regularly advise our corporate clients on compliance with regulations relating to consumer rights and unfair commercial practices.
